Born in Augusta, Georgia to the late Reverend J. V. Blassingame Jr., a Baptist minister and a Gospel promoter, and the late Evangelist Adeline Blassingame, a minister of F. B. H. Church.  Albert Blassingame attended the young people meeting in both churches. In the summer he went to the Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church for Vacation Bible School.  Albert got his multiple faith experience through all three churches.  After the death of his mother Adeline, Albert moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he lived with his aunt and older brother. He attended the Philadelphia Vocational Training School.  At the age of seventeen he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and became a member of the Mount Zion F. B. H. Church.  In 1953 he was drafted in the United States Army where he served as a tank driver and a scout. He boxed as an amateur light heavyweight.  After being discharged in 1955 he returned back to Philadelphia.  In 1956 he was called to the ministry and was licensed by Elder B. B. Bowman.  Previous to meeting his wife Ledia Brooks, Albert T. Blassingame had a son, the late Bishop Garfield Hart.  He met and married Ledia Brooks in 1956 and through that union was born four children, Albert Tyrone, Calvin Earl, Pierre, and Wayne Donnell Blassingame.  Albert T. Blassingame traveled for twenty-six years as an evangelist. On Father's Day in 1982 he was installed as Pastor of Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church. On Sunday June 4, 2000 he was elevated to Bishop of Faith Tabernacle.
